Victory Home Mushroom Garden

Yes, greenhouses need to be put to bed for the winter too! Hard at work are our Headwaters Master Gardener group in the joint project with The Victory Home. They cleaned up the greenhouse exterior and surrounding fields. Thanks to John Scaduto & Steven Patrick, UGA Extention Agents for helping - John worked with the MG's securing & stabilizing the shade cloth covering the greenhouse. Steven mowed the large garden area & tilled the smaller area. Then he sowed a cover crop of crimson clover. Their help & support is invaluable! It looks so clean & nice! Thanks to our wonderful agents and all MG's for their hard work!

The Headwaters Master Gardeners and The Victory Home (VH) are collaborating on a joint project focused on utilizing the greenhouse at the VH which has been cleaned & will soon begin getting things ready for the fall & winter. Clean 1 gallon pots are always welcome. The volunteers are happily accepting donations of extra perennials, trees, shrubs, and ferns. Contact Kathy Booker (kbooker@truvista.net) if you have plants or garden items that need a home. You can drop off your donations at VH greenhouse or St. James Episcopal Church. All activities follow CDC COVID guidelines.
